While the caps are out check that the cathode resistors haven't changed value and check the cathode voltages.

The cathode resistors seem pretty much what they should be - pretty close to the 330 ohms quoted on Trader Sheet 917. The cathode voltages on the two output valves are:- V4 7.26v, V5 8.6v. The Trader sheet says 8.2 v on each, so not quite right but the set's owner is coming to collect it tomorrow. I have therefore had to call it a day on this one. At least it works and looks a great deal better than it did when first handed to me. I have learned a lot (mainly to stop saying 'yes' when people ask if I can 'just have a look at this for me')
