Re: BSR X4H. Is it stereo compatible?
Hello Ben/Edward.
I have looked at the astatic and electrovalue cartridges and they have black bodies. Mine is grey. If it is a clone or a fake it may not be stereo compatible. It certainly sounds the same as the x5. Your views most welcome to determine originality and s/comp before a record gets destroyed. John. |

Re: BSR X4H. Is it stereo compatible?
Well the stylus in your X4H is a stereo-compatible type, but given that we are unsure about the source of the cartridge itself, we just do not know how good is the vertical compliance.

Re: BSR X4H. Is it stereo compatible?
I'm 99% sure it will be stereo compatible, it's not as if it's a really ancient crystal turnover type like a TC8. All the BSR types using the plastic ST type styli are good for stereo vinyl. I'd just use it and be glad it works!
