Default PP7 9volt batteries

I was in my local Maplin today and notice they sell PP7 batteries- I didn't know that these were still available. I know they were used on some early transistor sets.

They aare still sold, though a decreasing number of places are stocking them as demand must be dropping. Normally they are the red Ever Ready ones.

As has been said, Maplin still sell them and they can also be obtained from several online stores. At one point Maplins did their own brand but they're now mainly GP brand (which are quite good) although their (Maplins) website still illustrates the old red Ever Ready types.

Just out of interest, the PP6 and the peculiar PP4 can be obtained from these people .......... http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/ and I understand these are USA-made imports. Other online stores can supply the PP7, plus the AD28 and PP8. On the latter, the PP8, this was discussed some time ago in another thread .......... https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...&highlight=pp8

Take a peep at ....... http://www.univercell-batteries.co.uk/index.htm
