You'll likely have to go via a UK proxy to see UK specific parts of bbc.co.uk. On a couple of recent foreign trips, inputting www.bbc.co.uk/news just flashed the page I wanted up briefly then redirected to bbc.com instead. They waffle about it being because UK browsers don't get advertising and because some UK content free to UK TV licence holders is not free overseas. Since they don't know whether you're a licence holder or not, a simple geographical decision is made.

There's plenty about it all if you Google it!
