AIWA 4 Band Stereo Radio Cassette Recorder
Hi Guys,
I have a AIWA 4 Band Stereo Radio Cassette Recorder, Stereo 250 which I can get stations on FM but I seem to get nothing on MW LW or SW nothing what so ever just total silence, any help would be most appreciated. Regards, Ken. |

Not familiar with this model so not sure what type of circuitry it uses, discreet components or integrated circuits.
Try cleaning the wavechange switch first then it's down to finding a circuit diagram and either tracing the signal or using a signal injector working back from the volume control.

As Simon rightly says, clean the wavechange switch first of all; spray some Servisol Super 10 into the actual switch mechanism on the PCB, then operate the switch back and forth quickly for a minute or so.

Re: AIWA 4 Band Stereo Radio Cassette Recorder
Looks like a typical mid-1980s unit, so almost certainly IC based: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/aiwa_4...tereo_250.html
