Z80 programmer
I have noticed that there is some more interest in earlier computers recently.
In the days when this stuff was worth nothing I pulled some boards out of a huge heap of XT machines with just two 360K floppy drives in each. I originally kept two of them for the ZIF sockets. I managed to give away several of the XTs but gave up with the huge printers that threw out endless blank sheets of paper at the drop of a hat. Most of them did print but they were wasteful. I dug the boards out. One looks like it was made in 1977/78 and has one Z80 PIO on it. The other is 1979/80 has two PIOs on it and has been modified to program 2732 EPROM chips in addition to the original 2716 it was first made for. The rewired socket is marked bipolar so the modification must have removed this function. It looks like they run on a parallel port and 5 volts. The programming voltages are generated on board. It is all on a 60 pin by 0.1 inch edge connector. Are they really just worth 3 ZIF sockets each? |

Re: Z80 programmer
I have has a scan of his website and he has photos of both types I have.
I originally saved them for the ZIF sockets but who knows what interest there might be. At least I now know what the motherboard looks like now. |
