Another DAC 90 - drive cord
Hello again,
Same DAC 90 with the broken dropper - different problem! The drive cord has snapped (tuning drive cord) it appears to be very fine steel multi-core cable/wire. Anyone recommend what to use to replace it? The one's i've done before have all been "string" type, cord. Derek |

How about stainless steel fishing line trace?
Can be crimped using the barrel of a small ring tag or perhaps they may have brass ferrules in said angling shop? Just a suggestion, best of luck.

Re: Another DAC 90 - drive cord
I've used nylon monofilament, steel guitar strings, crab-line, whipping twine and two sizes of beading cord in various restores. Sometimes the larger monofiliament fishing line replaces wire well.

Picture hanging wire may be of use for this job.
Mike's suggestion could work but synthetic cord would most likely not withstand the heat from the valves below, hence metal is used instead. If you need any picture wire (thickness not super critical for this set), feel free to message me, that's available too. Rick. |

Re: Another DAC 90 - drive cord
Thanks everyone,
I been out to the town and managed to find some fishing wire. It's perfect. Works a treat. I think the picture hanging wire would also work, it must be very similar thickness. Derek |

At least you can carry on with it now, that's a good outcome.
All the best with the project. Rick. |
