Not a major task to design one.

I have looked through my box of PWs around the late 60s to early 70s.

I have looked at all the Take 20 articles. Initially they were by Julian Anderson but by around 1974 they were being authored by David Andrews.

I looked at all articles by FC Judd that I could find. FC Judd was quite prolific in the early 70s but tended to pen large complex 'headline' projects rather than simple circuits. There was also another author that cropped up by the name of JA Jebb.

Despite all this I have drawn a blank, though my PWs from the early 70s do not form a complete set, and I wonder if, down the mists of time your memory has confused authors, articles, or even publications.

However, just out curiosity I have scanned in the Take 20 amplifier circuits that I did find - one of which was the first article in the series.

I have also had a nice stroll down memory lane and found two useful articles for another project I have been considering.

And another curiosity from the Take 20 series: An intercom.

As nothing's shown up of the original article, is there any need for that specific article? A microphone preamplifier with a grounded-base input stage can always be designed again if need be. Even with 20 components, though not for 20 shillings unless the junk box coughs up the bits.

What microphone?

Quite. The one I found did it with 18 and could certainly be built for not much more than a fiver, even with all new bits. Probably less in real money than 20/- back in the day.
