Unhappy Yamaha CA810 vintage amplifier - problem

I am searching for a reliable expert engineer to help with a much loved Yamaha CA810 amp which has stopped working.

I have owned it since the 1970s, but it has been in safe storage for around 15 years without any use. Having found some time, and space, to set up my old system over the Christmas holidays, I was very disappointed to find the power light comes on and one meter lights up, but having tried most of the inputs with various sources, there's no life or any noise at all emitting from either channel.

I'm looking for somewhere or someone very accomplished, to have it repaired/restored. Can anyone help or advise?

Many thanks,

Alan Wood

I have no personal experience of them, but there's AVS at Loughborough, they do actually state that they work on older hifi equipment:
A digital radio is the latest thing, but a vintage wireless is forever..

Hello, may a bit late but I have the same Amp and it took a long time to get it running again. There are multiple possibilities why the amp is not working anymore. But I can say I have deep experiences with the 810 Drop me a mail to if you are still looking for someone to fix it. Cheers, Oliver
