Teac A-4300SX grease advice
I am doing a bit of a service on my Teac and have stripped it down to clean the pinch roller pivot as it was suffering the common ‘sticky’ grease problem.
My question is about what grade/type of grease to use on it now? I have smeared on some Castrol LM - wheel bearing grease - but the action seems to be too free now. Should the grease be stiff enough to damp the movement of the pinch roller engage/disengage slightly? Any thoughts? Thanks, Bill |

Re: Teac A-4300SX grease advice
The grease is not a dampening grease, I use a synthetic grease from RS https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/greases/2276271/

Re: Teac A-4300SX grease advice
Thanks for the confirmation. It now operates fine but I must have been used to the ‘soft’ pinch roller engage caused by the hardened grease.
Now I’m moving on to sort out some record switching issues with this. I’ve owned it for over thirty years and it has always been the most reliable machine in my collection. Bill |
