Hi, can anyone give me the year of this machine? I'm guessing early 70's.

Between 1972-75. A well regarded receiver chassis, but worthy of far better speakers which is the system's weak point.

Thanks for narrowing it down for me. Yes the speakers do feel a bit light.

They are certainly light in phyisical weight as well - in order to keep shipping costs down. But just try it on a pair of 1980s Tannoy Mercurys and all will be revealed....
