Eddystone EC958.
Another long term project of mine is this eddystone ec958.
It’s the one with the dot matrix l.e.d readout. The problem is the incremental oscillator has no output. So no drive to the readout, & not working on the higher bands. I’ve simulated the output with a sig gen & it tunes over its band & the readout works. Dismantling the thing is a real pain because it’s soldered into a close fitting copper oven stuffed with glass wool. I had downloaded the manual, & had a look at it, but no joy. Any advice before I chuck it? It’s been on the list but it’s a bit beyond me this one. |

Re: Eddystone EC958.
I can’t offer any advice but I would urge you to persevere with the radio. I have an earlier version of the EC958, with the analogue projection readout, that had a PSU fault. It took me a good few years to finally fix it and I’m really glad I did as it’s a fantastic receiver. It also has sentimental value for me as it was one of two EC958’s used in the radio room of the QE2.
