Well that is a remarkably good job the chap has done for you. And to have had a spare pickup arm as well.
The arms were not very robust.

I agree, those Collaro arms were quite weak, but to their credit they did have a high-ish compliance. That work on the circuit board and the new caps look like a very good job has been done. Does that Norwich based Engineer post his services on the Forum?
Now, and on seeing the internals, that looks like a Plessey 6.5" speaker which might have been a replacement for the original Celestion twin-cone unit.

Video of the machine in action. It does sound better with the lid closed, of course, but it's more fun watching the autochanger.

I'll open it up again and have a look at the speaker in due course. You can see it here in one of the shots from when I first took it all apart.

I don't know if Richard is on this forum, but I can supply PM contact details for anyone in the area looking for repair assistance. Very reasonable rates. He also specialises in train set controllers, but I don't have a train set...

He was more than familiar with the 393G, having previously abandoned a restoration himself because the woodworm in the case was too far gone!

Great to see it's all sorted and working well, the PCB repair looks good!

Update: I think the speaker's working fine. I had a rummage and discovered one of the cables was resting on the cone, causing unwanted vibration. Tucked safely away now!

I've been caught out by that before! From a feeling of regret that yet another possibly difficult replacement part has to be found to a feeling of elation that it was something silly and easily fixable.
