The Story of British Pathé
Just discovered this via a link on the BBC News web site. It is described thus: Series which delves into film company British Pathe's treasure trove of images begins with the work of the buccaneering cameramen behind Pathe's newsreels.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...h_of_the_News/ It's one hour long and I've only just started to watch, but it looks like a fascinating piece. Enjoy!

Re: The Story of British Pathé
Yes it's good and there are 3 more to come. Regardless of the temptation to spot period errors the new 50's drama The Hour [BBC2] has been good and there are vintage shots in Great Thinkers [BBC4 again]. What a resource this channel is and the BBC Board keep trying to scrap it. [having lost with 6 Music] The new Chairman announced that he doesn't watch TV! when he got the job. That was the same attitude 60 years ago-amazing!
Dave W I wonder if anyone on here supplied hardware for the drama? |
