Default 'Wireless remote control unit' (their description).

Listed on our village sales website for £40, along with a gas mask tin (again their description).

I have no idea what it is or its value, but can get more details if anyone is interested.

It's for collection from Hixon ST18, but I could probably rescue it and post it at cost if it's an item of interest.

If you look carefully at the picture you can see that the plate on top of the battery box does say “Wireless Remote Control Unit”. Unfortunately I can’t read the rest of the text.

A bit of work with Google suggests that it’s a Wireless Remote Control Unit A but missing the morse key.

I have a couple of "Wireless Control Unit 'E'" (apologies for the poor photograph, taken quickly without extracting the item from where it's stored), which are presumably a later version of the same sort of thing. They act as field telephones, but each have a lead to plug into a "wireless unit" (which I don't have).

Here is a better picture of my unit - this time with the flash on the camera switched on! Also included is a picture of the second unit. The only problem with them illuminated by flash is it shows their dire need of being dusted.

Looks like it's an "8A" key that's missing, then.

Thanks for the info. But does anyone want to buy it from them? I don't but wanted to give people the opportunity.

Unfortunately, given the condition it's in, £40 seems quite steep to me, especially if I'd have to arrange its transport on top of that.

I don't remember how much I paid for my two units - in better condition and complete (apart from the wireless unit itself) - but I'm pretty sure it was less than that.
