Default TV production figures 1958 to 1959.

From the Electrical and Radio Trading magazine Febuary 20 1960.

As you can see from the attached table of figures British radio and television manufactures were certainly producing huge numbers of TVs radiograms and radio sets.
In 1959 home market dispatches of TV sets were up 36% on the previous year. The higher figures were due to the growing popularity of TV rental.
Production was up on radio sets by 19%, but radiogram dispatches were down 14%. The TV and radio manufactures were having a good time. Two years later everything went wrong for them.
