ID please on this bulb fitting
A very easy one this time! I'm just looking for a confirmation of exactly what fitting type this little neon bulb is.
I believe it may be a BA9S, but other than MES I known nothing about small bulb sizes! (even my torches are LED these days). I picked these up at todays sale at the Vulcan central stores. I'd like to get one or two PCB mount holders, or those with right-angle solder tags, for them, but need to know exactly what im trying to find! Photo attached plus rough measurements (ignore the numbers at the top! )

Re: ID please on this bulb fitting
RS do in fact have the PCB ones, but although ok priced each at 60p, they are sold in 10x multiples. I only really want one or two. Bit of a dilemma. Still im in no rush so can keep my eye out.

Re: ID please on this bulb fitting
You may be able to find them from a vehicle spares supplier. Widely used on older cars for dashboard indicators, and sometimes for front marker lights that are built into the headlight housing.
Remember though that vehicle lamp holders are almost always earth return and therefore unsuitable for dangerous voltages. EDIT to add, loads of earth return types for sale on ebay, and also a couple of insulated types with two terminals. Suggested search "ba9s bulb holder" Last edited by broadgage; 1st Dec 2019 at 6:06 pm. Reason: To add last bit. |
