Default Can you tell me the model number of this?

Hi, can anyone please identify this Ekco radio?

Unfortunately this one has a huge crack in the side of the case.

Kind Regards...Andy

Hi Andy,
it is an Ekco A23, late 1940's. They are a very impressive set when done.

Good luck with the restoration

regards,

Rick.

Hello,

There is also the AC/DC Ekco U49 which has the same case as the AC only A23. So if it has a mains transformer it is an A23 and if it has a dropper resistor it is a U49.

Yours, Richard

Hi Richard. Thank you, yes it has a dropper so it sounds like it's a U49
This radio belongs to a Radio Ham friend of mine with Parkinson's and I'm selling lots of stuff for him but I wasn't sure about this one because of the significant damage to the case but I hate to say "throw it away," when I know someone somewhere would probably love it. I figure once it's thrown away it's gone forever; boy do I ever hang onto some junk? Hi Hi
Kind Regards ...Andy
