Default Ekco U29?

Hi - I'm looking for a bit of advice please. I just bought a U29 which I knew was an Export set owing to the 2 Short Wavebands.
What I had not expected to see, was 5 valves.
I check the internet and could only find a U29T but, that still has 4 valves

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
BTW - the missing valve in the picture (I think) is a CY31

U29X?

What's the number of the extra valve that's fitted and the numbers of the other valves?

Lawrence.

Sure. They are:-

EF39
CBL3
? 39 (red painted coating has detached)
OM10 (Cossor) connected to Tuning Condenser)

plus the missing CY31

The original valves fitted to the X version were 2 x EF39, CCH35, CBL31, CY31 so far as I can make out.

I noticed that the U29X (as shown in 'Radio Radio'), has Long/Medium/Short wavebands, whereas my one (as seen in my photo) has 2 Short and 1 Medium wavebands.

Does this make a difference to the valve line-up mentioned above, please?

I only ask because I am unable to find a circuit diagram.
Thanks

In an advert I'm looking at it gives the waveband ranges as:

200 to 550 metres

35 to 100 metres

11 to 35 metres

All for 17gns in 1948 (2nd advert down in the LH column):
