Default Philips BX548A - back to life

So it's been a long while since I last posted anything.

But I'd like to post this success update, my original restoration thread is closed.

The radio is a Philips BX548A
Original thread is here with photos etc.
https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=152496

The finished radio is not 100% refurbished but it's been on my bench so long now that kinda like the tattered look!

The best show off part is the sound quality, just amazing!
See for yourself, I made a short video of an FM broadcast yesterday evening.

Thanks to all the folk who help me through the restoration process.

Main restoration tasks:
Replaced all caps as needed.
Replaced several resistors.
Replaced AF amp Valve & socket
Replaced Audio feedback winding on AF trafo (very happy with this), special thanks to Ed Dinning for help on this one.
Replaced tuning chords
Repaired rotatable ferrite rod antennas & chords

Question Re: Philips BX548A - back to life

Glad you're enjoying the set after all your hard work

The link to the video doesn't appear to work - it asks me to log into Google , which is confusing…
