That's good news. Will it be available at BVWS events (in particular Harpenden)?

Cheers.

I do not know for 100% certainty, but the BVWS normally take all available publications etc to events so I see no reason why this DVD wouldn't be available.

If any of you have already seen this or have already received your DVDs, it would be useful to have some comments please. I can then add them to the BVWS and BVWM websites when I add this DVD in a few days. Thanks.

I have seen this at the museum and felt it to be a first class production. I had the benefit of seeing it with Gerry Wells and so had his input on it. On the whole it seems that it has been done very accurately, with only some very minor inaccuracies. One radio featured in the programe is the actual one from the event covered. The clips with Gerry in make it complete. Gerry has done superb work with the museum and I am so glad that this programme has been made and that Gerry is able to see other people enjoying it. Some superb music too. I personally loved the details about the 2-pin plug, as it bought back similar memories of myself at a very young age when I would collect any such plugs and sockets I could find.

I hope that it may be able to be followed up with an interview with Gerry, or perhaps even a commentary?

I found the whole story very touching and would recommend anyone who watches the DVD to also read Gerry's book, which is much more detailed and makes the DVD story easier to follow in places. Very enjoyable and worthwhile!

Did you notice what looked like modern yellow polyprop capacitors among the play things? I didn't manage to pause on the shot as it only lasts for a second or so.

My Beedy eyed mate who watched it with me last night commented on the Radiator in the hospital corridor being "too new" and spotted a dog waste bin it the park as "young Gerry" sped through it on his bike.. both things I had missed when I watched it myself, but I was watching it for entertainment not to pick it to bits!
I think it was very well done and more mistakes can be found in much bigger productions that would have had a much bigger budget!
I agree that reading Gerry's book first makes things a little clearer but unlike some films I have watched I did not find it a poor second to the book quite the opposite!
A big
Rich.

You're right Paul, two of them were transposed, the Marconi and the RGD, otherwise spot on though with the sets.

I picked up a copy at Harpenden and enjoyed viewing it yesterday evening. Like others I guess I was looking for errors and I did glimpse what seemed to be out of period Radiospares boxes at Red Bank, but this is a trivial comment on a charming film.

It did seem to finish too soon but at least it has a happy ending.
