Default Tandberg TV 1-43

I recently got this Tandberg TV. It is their first shot in the TV business. The set is from 58-60. The regular transmissions started in 60, so this is the oldest ther is in these parts of the woods.

Extrenally the set looks ok for it's age. Inside it is ok if you don't look too close.

Many, maybe all, of the caps are damaged in some way, some resistors are burned and a valve has cracked.

The set has been stored in a garage. I suspect it has been exposed to moisture. After Reading a bit on the forum I have seen moisture is a problem to parts like the LOPTs. Can anyone recognise the LOTP in this set as being a type prone to problems?

The tube in this set is a AW 43-88. Probably a Philps, but the label is missing.

I know this is a long shot, but do anyone have a diagram for this set?

That does not look too bad, I have tackled worse
It will need a full recap and a fair few resistors, if you are worried about the LOPT, remove it and place it in a warm place for a while.
Any pictures of the cabinet?

It almost has a "home made" look about it, with the plastic grille on the side.

However itr looks like a sturdy chassis and I think you should be able to get it going when all the bad components have gone.

I presume it is a 625 line VHF set, like the Dux model I have.

Look forward to seeing a picture on it!

The tube can be identified as made by Philips, by the code numbers stamped on the base. I think I can see them through the opaque cover.

With a bit of luck, I can give type number, factory and month of manufacture of the tube, when provided with a picture of said codes.

I think they didn't produce many of these. I have to get documentaition as many og the Components are unreadable. I also am a bit worried about the damaged capacitor in the EHT Cage which seems to be missing parts. I hope this isn't a sign of something bad has happened.

It is a 625 VHF set, which means I seen some kind of VHF modulator to get a picture on it.

I'm not home, but when I get back I'll have a look at the codes.

I own the same. Their are only a few sets hand-made!
I got mine from a friend in Oslo who works for the norwegian television.
With yours are now 4 sets known plus one console.
The set was produced in 1959 (CRT: AW 43-88)

German Dalek

I had a look at the net to see the console set. Some years back I got a console set that looks like this http://nrhf.no/Tandberg/TR%20TV/t-tv1-18.html

I suppose this is the console version of 1-43. At the time I had no Space for it at home and it was put into Storage together with some other stuff and I forgot about it. At the time i thougt it was a later set and didn't pay too much attention to it. When I get to the storage I'll check what kind of set it is.

They seem to have it. I'm not a member, but I'll ask anyway. When looking at the pages they seem insist on membership if they should help.
