Default Heathkit Oscilloscope Model OS 1, Gloucester England

I have a little Heathkit oscilloscope that I would like to restore.
It is a model OS 1 from Heathkit, marked Gloucester, England.
Can anybody provide me with a circuit diagram?
Thanks,
Dan

You can download the circuit diagram from here

https://www.vintage-radio.info/heathkit/

It doesn't have the complete manual for the OS 1

Again like this forum it's Paul who maintains the archive.

Cheers

Thanks Mike. I appreciate that.
It's a rather cute little oscilloscope and I'd like to see it operational.
It has suffered from a number of previous attempts at repairs but I'm sure to sort it with the schematic.
One significant issue will be the removal of numerous Hunt's capacitors..
I'm very familiar in dealing with these blighters from my old R and TV days when I encountered the various British sets that emigrated down-under!
We had similar leakage issues with the old pitch potted AWA capacitors.
Cheers,
Dan

Well have fun with it Dan

I have a couple of kit scopes in the rountuit pile, again suspect caps waxies in one case about 40 of the blighters

Cheers

Dan,
Apart from the capacitors, check all the resistors I think most of them will be out of tolerance, probably high. Unfortunately Heathkit did not use the best quality components in their otherwise good designs of the time.

Good luck

The scopes are quite basic. I don't think the bandwidth extends much above 3.5Mhz. They were good for audio and (probably) for the 405 TV system we used in the UK in the B/W days. Don't expect to be able to see digital switching signals.....!

Hi!

You can download, free and no registration needed, the August 1960 of "Radio Constructor" magazine from the American Radio History Website for the complete article on this instrument, specifications, a circuit description and a full Component List, together with the circuit and a front panel layout drawing - I recommend you get this and study the details provided therein!

Thanks Chris, that article is perfect.
As it turns out I had already downloaded all those Radio Constructor magazines. David Gleeson deserves our undying gratitude for his site.
I wonder what other articles that I desperately need are already on my PC?
Cheers,
Dan
