IA-317 op-amp?
A piece of 90's kit I'm working on has some op-amps identified as IA317 which is a device I don't find listed anywhere.
Can anyone identify the part?

Re: IA-317 op-amp?
Found it used in a rhythm machine as an output buffer - looks like a conventional op amp.

The logo looks like that for
HFO-VEB Halbleiterwerk Frankfurt Oder. They were East German in the DDR days. Could be an asic. Ken |

Re: IA-317 op-amp?
I've seen some suggestions that the IA317/AK317 is a clone of the LM13500.
But detail thin on the ground to confirm. |

HFO-VEB does seem to be the onefor this chip, the logo is the same. Finding information is more difficult. The part is used as an audio amplifier stage in an early music synthesiser so I'll probably try a 741 or something.

Re: IA-317 op-amp?
Hi,
Following a few links there does appear to be the same three devices listed as alternatives: IA317(D) = AK317DC = NE5517 NE5517 is a dual operational transconductance amplifier. Probably have to reverse engineer to find out if pin compatible. The first link is for elektroda RTV forum post #2 https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/to...4.html#7881442 The second link shows a picture of AK317D together with, further down the page, a data sheet for Philips NE5517 https://shop.tvsat.com.pl/pl/p/1szt-...IP16-RFT/11862 Cheers Rich

Re: IA-317 op-amp?
Thanks Rich, that looks promising. I’ll check the service manual to verify the pinout.

Re: IA-317 op-amp?
Excellent! I've checked the circuit diagram for the equipment and the 5517 matches. It has a buffered output available on discrete pins which are used in a similar way on the circuit I have. I'll be ordering some to try out.
Thank you,
