Default Defiant TV identification needed, please.

Can anyone identify this exact model of Defiant set, please? I have searched it inside and out but all I can find is "Defiant". I can then order the circuit from Paul.

N.B. It hasn't really got legs! It's a table model. The little table with legs has been made especially for it.
Also the tube mask colour might not be as original as it has been restored.

It's likely to be a model 7109. One of the last Defiant TV sets to employ the large metal chassis which was introduced in 1957.
Your set will be fitted with a Mazda 90 degree CRT, type CRM173.
Ht rectifier is a PY32/3.

Information for the set can be found on page 344 in the 1958/9 Radio and TV servicing book. Later versions were modified to accept the PCL84 as the video amplifier instead of the Mazda 30F5.
Some sets use a PCL82 instead of the Mazda 30PL1 for the audio amplifier and output.

According to the sticker in the set the valve line up is:-

30L1 30C1 EF85 30F5 6D2 30F5 30FL1 PCL82 30F5 6D2 30PL1 30P4 U191 U26

CME1702 (tube) and PY32

Is it possible for anyone to send me details from the relevant Radio & Television servicing book? (Or is that not allowed??)

Thanks for the replies.

The Mazda electrostatic focus CRT type CME1702 was fitted into some late Defiant 7109 models.
The chassis of the Rediffusion Mark 4B was similar except it employed Mullard valves. The CRT used in the Mark 4B was the Mullard 90 degree electrostatic focus type AW43-80.
