Default PYE XX38 portable valve radio. (Identified as a Pye New Baby Q All Dry).

I have a PYE portable valve radio and I'm hoping someone can confirm the model number.

A couple of Pye sets from 1940 look similar.

Baby Q Senior.

New Baby Q All Dry.

EDIT: It looks like the Baby Qs have been discounted.

The second picture you've linked to looks just like the one at bottom of the page the OP linked to.

Now I have searched Baby Q, I'm finding it the same Graham. I have no idea what wonderful internet picture I stumbled upon yesterday, apart from it was similar but very rounded.

Mine here does indeed look like a Baby Q I'm now searching for.

I'm finding pictures referring to 'Baby Q all dry cover' to be the same as mine.

Yup. My own Pye Portable is clearly a Pye New Baby Q All Dry.

There is a Pye HF25 amplifier in those pictures, its the first one I have seen since I worked in London in 1954 where we sold them, I was beginning to think I had imagined it.

There were many Pye models bearing the Baby Q name and they had different external appearances.

I think this is the service sheet I used when restoring mine. The picture is different, but the circuit is correct.
