GEC BC3890 Receiver.
Greeting from South Africa.
Long time since I was on this group, but I am hoping someone can help or direct me to where I may find a picture of the front of the GEC BC3890 which was a radio that I grew up with from 1943 until I left England in 1966. My father and I used to listen to Radio Amateurs World Wide on this radio as it was super sensitive having a tuned RF stage and the audio out was stunning using a pair of Px4s in the output amplifier. I think that it was also called "The AC All Wave Quality 8" and was from around 1938/9. |

Re: Gec bc 3890
Hi,
I have this GEC set which is described on the back as an "AC all wave quality 8" the model number is a little hard to read but looks to be BC3890 I have never powered it up - one of those to look at when I get more time and space to work on it,whenever that will be |

Guard that pair of PX4s! If they're in good condition they'll be worth about 20 times what the rest of the set would fetch
