Default Columbia C310. Value?

Hi evryone

I have a somewhat beat up old radio passed down to me. From a little google searching I think it is a Columbia C310.

I'm wondering if anyone could use this for a project if they need parts. I understand I need to put in an exact price, but to be honest I have no idea if this is worth anything to anyone.

Pete

Hi Pete,

Thanks for posting here about this one (actually a C301 I think). It's probably not a candidate for restoration - the missing tuning scale would be an obstacle, also the knobs to an extent, and it isn't a model that would have much monetary value at all even in good condition. Mainly of use as a source of parts, then, and I would guess you would have a much better chance of finding a taker if it were offered free of charge than at even £10: there's nothing especially valuable in there. Sorry it's not good news, but better for some use to be made of the poor old set than for it to go to landfill.

Do you mean a Columbia C301?
https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/columbia_c301.html
same insides as
https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/marconi_t32at_32.html
HMV, Columbia and Marconi/Marconiphone(domestic only) are all EMI brands from 1928.
There might be an HMV version too.

Maybe £5 as it's in poor condition. Though perhaps can be restored. Photo of back & inside?
Is scale glass missing?

I think you'll easily find a new home for this, but I'm afraid I think it would have to be free (or almost). Its main letdown is the screen-printed backlit glass tuning scale is misisng.

Nick.
