Philips 663 A EHT circuit
Hello there,
What type of EHT generating circuit is used on the Philips 663A television as I don't recognise it. I can see 2 HVR2 rectifiers in paralell going to a fairly small looking transformer (T5) although it does not look like a conventional line output transformer. Christopher Capener

Re: Philips 663 A EHT circuit
The Philips 663A derives it's EHT supply from the 3KV pulse present at the anode of the EL38 line output valve. The two HVR2s serve as a voltage doubler. The EHT rectifers filament supply comes from two highly insulated windings on a heater transformer.
