Hi Malc,

That'll be Portable 61 and AD4 in Ever Ready terms. I could soon hold a rule against an AD4, but don't have a Port.61 to hand: I'm sure someone (batterymaker1? ) will be along with the official dimensions.

Regards,
Paul

Hello Malc,

Yes I've got the dimensions of those two batteries. I'm not at home at the moment but will let you know the sizes in this thread later this evening. I also have some pictures that you can use as I guide to build repro's.

BTW I built a repro L5041 for my Vanguard in this thread;

Regards

Hello Malc,

L5039 = Ever Ready Port.61 - 8" 1/4 x 4" 7/8 x 3" (210 x 124 x 76mm)

L5041 = Ever Ready AD4 - 2" 5/8 x 2" 5/8 x 3" 7/8 (67 x 67 x 98mm)

I've included a photo of an original AD4 and a L5041 for you. Haven't got one of the Port.61 I'm afraid, but perhaps Bill (batterymaker1) can oblige there?

Regards

Bill almost certainly has a picture of a portable 61, as he built one for me. It was shown in post one of this thread:-

https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=12303

but the linked to image has disappeared.

Hi, many thanks to everyone for their help. This info will help me complete the Vidor CN420A. I have fitted NOS valves and replaced any faulty caps etc and it plays very good with plenty of stations and lots of volume. Cheers, Malc.
