Radio identification. Identified as a Teledictor Cub.
Can anyone help identify this unknown (to me) English battery portable radio?

Re: Radio identification
Thanks HB. Perhaps the outline of the dog logo might be a clue?

Re: Radio identification
Here is the valve line up. Probably too generic to be diagnostic.

Re: Radio identification
Could be HMV. Certainly one wrong knob.

Re: Radio identification
Thanks chaps.
I have a soft spot for post war battery portables and have coveted this model in the past. Due to my many distractions I recently missed one on Ebay. But no worries a lot of the enjoyment in this hobby is the hunt And after all in the end its pretty much the same as any other 4 Valve 50's portable. No idea why I like then so much possibly a guilt trip for the number I dispatched in my teens And I have enough to keep me busy for decades already . So I will keep half an eye open Cheers Mike T

Re: Radio identification
Many thanks Mike. A friend of mine found the radio as pictured today in a job lot of radio gear. Sadly it's missing its knobs as you see.

We discussed one of these here, https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?p=817039 So it looks as if there are at least 3 still surviving. Mike |

Re: Radio identification. Identified as a Teledictor Cub.
I can vouch for this set, solid and compact and also pretty rare. Only problem is the rather flimsy McMurdo valve sockets.I replaced a missing knob with a cream "chicken-head knob, it looks quite appropriate. I always thought it was a dog (badge missing on mine) but obviously must be a bear "cub". I could replace the missing badge with a Fentimans ginger beer bottle label with the alsatian motif I suppose, close enough.
