Default IBM computer

Hi does anyone know off someone in the UK who can repair a IBM5170

Problem is: please insert boot disk,
which we haven't got.

There are some saved files on the hard disk that i need ,so i would like this fixed if at all possible

That message rather suggests that the HDD has suffered a failure; your files may no longer be there!

There are professional data-recovery companies out there - some of which offer a "no fix no fee" service.

My concern (and I sent a PM to this effect) is that an IBM 5170 would not give that message. In fact, if it can't boot from any drive (hard or floppy) it will go into ROM BASIC. This suggests to me that the machine is no longer a 5170, it's been upgraded at some point, meaning technical information on the 5170 (like the Technical Reference manual on my bookshelf) will not be any help.
