1923 Ericsson 4 valve receiver
Hello,
I am writing from qld, Australia, in the hope to find the owner of the Ericsson 4 valve receiver shown on rm.org, or any other example. I have a rough example. I wish to get dimensions so I can restore mine. It seems the rm.org may be the only other one.. I have emailed the owner from his member info page, but there has been no reply If you know of anyone who can help could you please contact me? Kind regards, Murray Roberts - |

Re: 1923 Ericsson 4 valve receiver
The images on Radio Museum were uploaded by Keith Stains, they originated from an Ebay auction apparently back in 2008.
Therefore it is unlikely Keith would be able to help with the dimensions, unless he was the person who bought the radio which is unlikely. Mike |

Mike, thanks for that clarification. I’m not sure which way to go now, as this was my last lead. it would be a shame to not repair this radio. It seems very rare, I have emailed countless organisations around the world with no success. Murray |

For ID purposes only, there's a similar one that was for sale here:

Re: 1923 Ericsson 4 valve receiver
Hi Murray, if you can trace the circuit out you should find it to be quite simple.
A lot of the problems will be with poor or oxidised connections. Original (bright emitter?) valves will be difficult to come by and expensive, but the set should operate just as well on dull emitters that are easier to find. There is a guy in the Melbourne area who has restored (and found spares for) a set of similar age. I'll be in Melbourne in the new year if you ever get down that way and can give you some assistance then. Cheers, Ed |

Re: 1923 Ericsson 4 valve receiver
Thanks Ed. I will keep learning, and one day probably be able to do as you say. There are a few missing bits, and it’s not in best of shape- no timber work. No top either, so valve bases are gone, and wires disconnected.
It’s a long term project.. |

Hi Murray, when you get round to it you can try an ad on here. I managed to find some parts and took them out to a Melbourne guy who was rebuilding a similar old set.

Wanted - information regarding 1923 Ericsson 4valve receiver
Hello from Australia. I am searching for anyone who has a living example of this radio receiver. I wish to get as much information as possible about it so I can restore my example. I need detailed measurements of the cabinet, as mine is non existent. Then I will need to work out the circuit, as mine is partly missing, and jumbled. Please any help would be great! I have already seen the info in rm. org.
