Default Workshop No.3 at Cottered

Split from this thread:-

https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=66745

--------------------------------------

Talking of the next workshop......

At present I am looking at mid to end of October for the next one.

If there is sufficient interest we might hold a "mini workshop" inbetween, but numbers would be strictly limited as we would be using the smaller room in the hall.

Just an idea at present, but would anyone be interested in a 2 day event? - this might encourage people that have a long way to travel to come and join us.

Obviously the costing will be higher, and there is accomodation to consider, but we could all then go out on the Saturday evening for a nice meal.

We would probably need around 15 people to do this, Workshop fees would be about £40 ish (STC) accomodation could be at the premer inn, Stevenage, and can be had for about £25 per night.

Lets see what the masses think?

Hi All,

Sounds a great idea, but will need to check on hall costing, this would mean the hall couldn't be let on the Saturday evening unless we cleared the hall, but none the less an excellent idea. This gives me an idea!!!! I may convert my cabin to a bunk room and offer very reasonable rates.

Cheers

I fear I would not be allowed out to play two days in a row.

OK, it's like this!

The hall has shower and cooking facilities and allows stop overs
(it appears the yocal morris men are on a 3 day bender and have been given the all clear to use the hall for a 2 night sleep over)
I'm not suggesting we book at the same time I'm simply suggesting we can use the hall to sleep in.
The booking fee will cover 10 to 21:00 or something like that for day 1 and 09:00 to 19:00 for day 2.

Alcohol can be consumed providing the licence fee of £25 is paid and breakfast will be available in the shape of a full English at cost if required.

How does that sound?

Cheers

Rob,

What you need to do is book the boss in for a weekend of pampering! It works wonders believe me. I'd suggest delivery Friday evening and collection late Sunday.

Just a thought.

Thanks Chris, are the bar prices reasonable?

Hi Rob,
I don't think there would be enough people to have the bar open so the licence just covers the consumption of Sean's homebrew!!
cheers

Not a problem - will be at the end of October - most other events will have been and gone by then

With the summer drawing towards an end (or already ended if we go by the weather!) are we going to finalise dates for workshop no.3?

I've now got a pass out if it's going to be an over-nighter

And if there's anything I can do to help (other than attending) please let me know.

Will speak to Chris later on, and see how the land lies - we ought to have this sorted by the end of the week.

Cheers
