Default Avo 7 battery

Hi,
Has anyone either got a spare 1.5V battery for one of these (condition not important) or can they send me a dimensioned sketch?

Kind regards

Robin

There was a thread some years ago in which we discussed the cell used in the Avo version of the Testmeter Type 'D; - 1.5V cell Type 5S/2000.

This should be the same as used in older Model 7s. Later a normal 'D' cell was used with an adapter which was essentially a piece of synthetic resin bonded paper with a rectangular aperture cut out and two phosphor bronze bands cut to form bows which fitted inside each end to form contacts.

As this has often been discussed before I'm almost certain there will be a drawing I posted in a previous thread but I can't find the thread at present. If the drawing is of interest. I will post another copy.

Hi PMM,
I've looked as well and I can't find it either :-( Would you please repost the drawing.

Many thanks

Robin

PS: Are these the same cells that used to be used in Field Telephones?

I have on as per post 12 in that thread, in the 3rd image, the type with flying lead.
It's 1.25" square x 3.4" long. Terminal post stands 0.32" to the top of the thread from the top of the battery.

Do you have a file for printing the battery sleeve as in the other post?

Kind regards

Robin,

A drawing of the AVO battery adapter is attached. I will try to find the artwork for the reproduction of original type of cell and post that too.

I have assumed that the original design was based on imperial units -
