Hi guys,
ok I am not the worlds best, not even the worlds okist cab restorer but is there any way to make the heat crack on the top of a cream DAC90A to look less obvious? Regards Andi

Re: Cream DAC90A - Mains Dropper Cabinet Crack.
Leave it as it is Andi. The heat crack on an ivory DAC90a is quite normal and is a feature of this particular model. Only those that have been rarely used may escape this problem. It really wont devalue it at all. I have only ever seen one ivory DAC90a without the heat crack and that was unused in its original box .

Re: Cream DAC90A - Mains Dropper Cabinet Crack.
Ok, Thats great news as aside from that its in very very nice condition, just needing a replacement mains dropper as the largest section is open :-(
it has been partially recapped from the looks of it and its very clean. Regards Andi

Yes, there is no way to hide the crack in these radios, the heat from the dropper makes the crack sooty from the inside out

You can start here http://www.vintage-radio.com/repair-...per-calcs.html then look at "one I prepared earlier" here http://www.vintage-radio.com/recent-...ekco-u245.html

Re: Cream DAC90A - Mains Dropper Cabinet Crack.
Thanks for that Paul.
Will look at this a little more closely and see if I can find a scrap DAC10 first as I know it had the same dropper... Regards Andi
