Speaking of hopes, I am hoping to find a 3" 8 ohm speaker to replace a dead one in a Fonadek unit. I was rather shocked to discover that I had nothing in the stores.

And just to clarify that VISITORS ARE WELCOME. If you're not a BVWS member but would like to come and see what we're all about, we allow two trial visits to our events. You can even take the plunge and join on the day!

You find valve and transistor radio/TV/audio/comms/test gear, spares, books, manuals and more!

Also, a working 405 line multi TV display, Keiths class in the side room about 11.30, hot and cold refreshments, ample parking, just 10 minutes off the M6.

See you there!

And here are the notes for todays talk at Golborne. I've had to split it into two parts so I can upload it. The main part of the talk is the "a" file and the appendix is the "b" file.

Next years November talk will be on Valves and Valve Testing.

Another excellent meeting up here in the North! Thanks again to those who set it up and particularly Keith for all the time he must have put into preparing the talk and handout.

Hello.
Had a good day out at Golborne. Came home with a Marconi Digital Synchroniser TF2170B and a TF2002B AM/FM Signal Genarator. Thank you to all for the Swapmeet and to Keith for the Outstanding Measurement and an introduction to fault finding.

Kevin.

I acquired a case for my AR88 - which has sat for years without one. The only problem was that the case acquired still has an AR88 inside it - so today's job will be to extract the thing from the boot of my car before separating the case from the innards!

Thanks to all the stallholders for the bits and pieces I bought, and a special thank you to Keith for his informative and entertaining talk.

I've added an Advance H-1 sig-gen to my workbench, (Thanks to AlanBeckett for uploading the manual), and now its time for a brew and a read of Keith's notes before I delve into the back of my latest acquisition!

An excellent 'do' as usual. Great talk from Keith.

Shame that there were plenty of members whom I knew on the forum but weren't 'labelled!'

Don't tell anyone I bought a DAB tuner from Dave's B&B stall. I'll never live it down!

Apologies for subjecting you to high-pressure selling, Mike.

Even though I was only being transported [by my brother] from Ramsbottom I was concerned about the foggy conditions having a negative "feedback" . It didn't seem to have affected what was a pretty good turn out however. Well worth the visit and Mike Barker had a lot of bargain items from the BVWS store on offer so I was overcome in the end. Many thanks to all oncerned

Had a great day out This was my first time to Golborne, and I got to meet and recognise some other characters on this forum. I will make up and wear a name badge next time.

The 405 line TVs running was a great spectacle, the collective 10khz line whistle was almost at the same pitch as my tinnitus . This has spurred me to get on with my KB RV10. I bought a few caps and a new EL41 for my Pye P45.

I attended Keith's class which was excellent.

Thanks to all who organised and attended. Already looking forward to the next one in 2016.

Oh dear, I had my hearing aids in and did not notice the 10kc/s whistle .

Great meeting, very enjoyable, thanks to all who made it happen and the visitors for supporting it.

Many thanks to all who attended or who made this event a success. Can anyone tell.me who the chap with the pantry transmitters was? He had a stall next to mine, but I lost his card.
