Default Cambridge Azur 340a and DVD player

Hi All,

As part of my thinning down I'd like to pass on some of my Cambridge Audio collection. I have the following items on offer:

1. Cambridge Audio Azur 340a - This was purchased second hand by myself a good few years ago. When purchased it was dead. It turned out the SMD input switching IC had a hole blown out of it! I suspect someone had tried a bit of bridging. I could not get the SMD chip, but did manage to get the standard DIL device and carefully jumped it into place. All now works well. The only issue recently is that the phono sockets at the back on some inputs either have dry joints or need a good clean as you have to waggle the phono leads occasionally. As it's a non standard repair I'll not eBay it, so shall we say 20? It's heavy so I could post but it may be costly.

2. Cambridge DVD55 DVD player. All working OK and does multi region and has a built in 5.1 decoder. No HDMI due to age, but has Scart and also Component. 10.

Both items could be posted, but may be costly so can also be picked up from S42 Old Tupton Derbyshire

No hat, so first come first served.

Thanks Trevor.

Hi All,

I might have been a little optimistic.. Amplifier reduced to 15 and DVD player for 7.50.

Thanks,

Trevor

Designed I believe by Douglas Self http://www.douglas-self.com/ which I suggests that the Azur 340a is probably rather good.

This is the successor 350a, which mentions Self http://download.hifi4ce.eu/Cambridge...es_Sept-10.pdf

I have more amplifiers lurking in dark corners that I can shake a stick at, so I'll pass - but fifteen quid is in my opinion a steal.

Old DVD players with displays like this make pretty good audio players, and you get the benefit of being able to play MP3 CDs too.

Hello,
If Dave's request for the DVD player falls through, please count me in! (Only just noticed this...)
Meanwhile, I'm putting a request in the Wanted section.

Hi All,

Just a quick update to say I'm withdrawing the Cambridge Amp. Sadly after bringing out of storage it is dead. Powering on, but other than some concerning noises there's no output.

I'll take a look at some point, but not fair to sell it.

Thanks,

Trevor
