It was not my intention to leave the organisers with a problem, I'll know better next time.

Another great meet, met many familiar faces and some new. May I echo the praises to the many oganisers and helpers.

I think the 16.00 finish may relate to the Retro-Tech meet. Today at 1.50 I counted about 11 people that were not stall holders or helpers. Many of us had travelled a considerable distance to the venue and were packing up at 2pm ready for the long drive home.

John.

Generally, with items for donation of proceeds, unless the seller suggests a price, I will sell them pretty much for whatever people are willing to offer.

As it happens, the price I was suggesting for the 'scope was £5.

For items offered for sale on a commission basis I don't reduce the price without the explicit agreement of the seller.

Different conditions may apply at other events!

Thank you everyone for coming, both visitors and stall holders alike, it was the busiest we've seen the hall since a while before covid.

I don't really do much for this event other than turn up and enjoy myself, the thanks really go to Mike & Jim for bringing up a van load of gear from the stores, Mark Ryding for organising the stall bookings, Dave Moll for running the B&B, Russell Atkinson for bringing his ultra (no pun intended) reliable 405 line telly display, Keith Wevill for doing his 'scope demonstration/tutorial. And of course every one who helps with setting up early and then loading up at the end of the day. And the lending of tea urns!

The event doesn't have a finish time and thus we don't publish one, usually after lunch time visitors start to thin out and stall holders will 'get that feeling' and start to pack up their stalls. The last of us left the hall at about 2.45pm. Many have been up early, travelled a long way and are keen to start the return journey.

We are grateful for folk who donate items to the Bring and Buy, it's good that you may offer items that you no longer want to be re-cycled by others and this all makes money for the BVW&TV Museum. But we nearly always have the problem of disposing of unwanted items at the end of the day. We end up having to transport them home and store them in our homes until the next event. Dave had to take items home in his small hatchback, I've brought two large and heavy carrier bags of magazines home that will into go into my domestic recycling bin.
Dave's suggestion that the donators of ALL items should be recorded is a good one that we'll start at the next event. Folks can pick their goods up before the end of the event, or when they decide to leave if they haven't been sold. Then they can ultimately decide the fate of those goods!

I'll hopefully have the dates for the Spring and Autumn 2023 Golborne meetings confirmed within the next week and I'll post them here on the forum.

That pretty much the same at RWB Dave.

Often we can't give stuff away everyone wanting to keep their cash for the Auction.

Over the years I have had to take home and bin tons of stuff abandoned by the owners despite telling everyone that it must be taken away if unsold (or given away) at the end of the day, not just donations either.

It seems despite these small wrinkles everyone had a great day.

Cheers

It wasn't perhaps the ideal situation giving the scope demo in the main room but a few people managed to stay the course. I'll be posting the notes soon as I'll need to make a few amendments to them before releasing them.

Although it was a little noisy for Keith having to do the presentation in the main room I found it really worthwhile. Thanks very much Keith for doing it and I look forward to the notes in due course.

I had a very enjoyable day at Golborne, made very welcome by all there. Although a much smaller event than the NVCF, it had a far more relaxed atmosphere with none of the hustle and bustle.

I came away with a few goodies too, including a CR100 and an AR88! Many thanks to everyone who makes these events possible, it's no small task to undertake.

It was disappointing that I could not make the meeting this year, but was down in Essex with family. I hope to make the next one.

It's a shame I couldn't make it, I've been busy recently & I've also had a spousal embargo on buying more "junk".

Unfortunately I was only able to stay at Golborne for the first hour and missed your talk so thank you very much for your notes.

That's a great guide to using an oscilloscope. Thank you putting it together, Keith. I'm sure it will be useful to many people including myself.
