Default Unusual wind up lamp

l've been given this lamp to look at, it looks like a very early wind up one, anyone know anything about it?

lt's branded "Magnetlampe"

That's certainly a natty piece of kit which was very forward thinking at the time & must have been quite powerful to light a filament bulb.

My better half has a modern version with LED bulbs.

Yes that's definitely it. Well discovered! l will see if l can get it to work.

lnside looks like a clockwork mechanism so presumably you pull the cord to wind it up and then it delivers light for a short time until the spring winds down.

Not bad for over 100 years ago. Will be interesting to see how much light it delivers, no LED's back then

I have one here, sadly the bulb is O/C. WW1 German trench lamp.

Many of the older dynamo or wind up lights use an E10 bulb of much lower wattage than norm for battery operation.

A once common type was E10 2.5 volt 60ma, perhaps surprisingly these are still available.
