Default AVO EM272 multimeter

Just acquired one of these in working condition except that the meter needle sticks around 40% fsd. It returns following a gentle tap on the casing.
Lots of tips on the forum about what might cause this but before I dive in can anyone advise the correct procedure for dismantling the case/pcb/etc to access the meter movement?
TIA
Roger

It's been quite a while since I disassembled an EM272.
As I remember it was fairly straight forward and logical.

See attached, which are Avo's fairly limited instructions
on disassembly.
Same procedure for all the 70 Series Multimeters.

Ian,
Thanks for this useful info. Disassembly went OK. I found what looked like a rust deposit on the inside of the meter magnet that was obstructing coil movement. Scraped away using the tip of a hypodermic needle and blew out the debris with compressed air. Meter now working fine. Thanks again.
