Communications & Electronics Museum
Hello! I am trying to find if this still exists as I have been trying to find it on the web to no avail. Does anyone know? I am trying to find a suitable home for a collection of vintage books and kit. Thanks.

Re: Communications & Electronics Museum
Are you thinking of the National Media Museum in Bradford?

Re: Communications & Electronics Museum
It's a Saturday, so the MoC should be open, so you could give them a ring
01592 is the Burntisland/Kircaldy code 874836. This is the collection Harry Matthews started at the university of Edinburgh. It outgrew the Kings buildings foyer and filled a cinema. Thanks to the lottery fund and alot of private donations, it now has a permanent home. David

Re: Communications & Electronics Museum
I'm a trustee of the Communications and Electronics Museum Trust (last located at Bletchley Park) we no longer acquire exhibits, just exist as an entity that provides some grants and support for other similar organisations

Re: Communications & Electronics Museum
Hi, if you cannot contact the museum you could try the IET archives if they are of historical significance.

Re: Communications & Electronics Museum
You may consider the BVWS, British Vintage Wireless Museum. http://www.bvws.org.uk/
Mike on this forum presides over auctions. The museum probably hasn't room for unexceptional things, but they can be auctioned off, find good homes, and the funds go to keeping the museum afloat. |
