Some interest in these units, and the mods have said it is ok to also offer the VFD displays.
Bought at an auction, no idea what they are, I was only interested in the VFD displays, the rest was just going for scrap. Consists of MC68HC11F1FN, 32 pin EPROM with a well stuck on label, 62256 SRAM, 5 of KM684000 512kx8 SRAM, 6850, 2 of 88C681 dual serial chips, plus 3 of Ethernet ports, misc TTL etc. All but the Ethernet chip socketted. A very naff NiCd battery, pulling 5V down so disconnected. All mounted in a 19" case, stainless steel, with PSU. The VFD is an Itron CU40025SCPB with two rows of 40 characters. Have four units. Less the VFD free of charge except postage, VFD £25, weight nearly 5kg so postage is £10. No paypal, payment cheque or transfer. Also have more units that seem to be an updated version that uses a custom PC design but it doesn't boot up and display, presumably needs a network, can test the VFD on the 6811 unit. |

Is that 5kg per unit?
I’m interested in the ICs and power supplies but not the 19 inch cases if there is any chance you could disassemble one or two units. |

Do the power supplies have input voltage selection for 120v?

The 'Flexicart' label on the EPROM suggests these may have been the control rack from a Sony Flexicart 'stack' which by the look of it had some kind of mechanical conveyor or mover for selecting 'carts' (cartridges) and feeding them into one of two or more recorder / player machines.
https://pro.sony/s3/cms-static-content/operation-manual/3178820111.pdf If so it's probably the controller unit which sat at the very top of the cabinet, hard to say for sure because we haven't had a whole unit or whole front panel view. If that's what it is the complete fully populated cabinet must have been eyewateringly expensive because there are some old adverts for them asking into 5 figures for the complete article second hand. |

PCB is marked Pharos Communications Ltd process controller, made in England, no idea what it is though, this discussion should probably be in the other (now locked) thread.

Interest shown, thanks, now the tricky part to find some boxes, vegetable crates from the supermarket has been suggested, so need to go looking.
Without the 19" case much lighter. |

Testing the VFDs in the PC version, and they are noticably dimmer, also some variation in intensity from one end to the other. Why, no idea, 5V ok.
With this caveat do people that opted for the PC version still want one? |

Apologies for delay, seems the following are wanted.
Mark1960 - 2 of 6811 with VFD's plus PSU only DominicBeesley - 1 of 6811 complete with case and VFD G60NEDAVE - 1 of 6811 and 1 of PC version, both complete with VFD. So far that seems to be all the 6811 versions plus one of the PC version. If ok then can get them packed to find out postage cost, seems will be in the 20kg weight, about £16 with tracking. |

I don’t want the VFDs, just the power supply and all the ICs or complete pcb without the metalwork.

You can reduce mine to one if that means Ceeejay can take one.

What are the dimensions of the metalwork? I might be interested in one or two of the cases with/without PSUs.

Yes you've got my request correct, I'll wait for the total cost and your bank details, so that I can do the BACS thing, thanks.

Changes, Mark only wants one, pcb and psu only, so second unit to Ceeejay complete with case and VFD.
The cases are standard 1U, 1.75" high, 19" rack mount, the 6811 is 12" deep, the PC is 14" deep, cases made from stainless, heavy! It is chucking it down with rain so not going anywhere today, probably too heavy to walk to the Post Office van anyway. |
