Hi chaps,
I want to couple this set I’ve just restored to the audio output of an external FM tuner to make it more usable. Where would the best place to do this, please? All the best, Nick |

Across the volume control. However, you will need to unplug it when not in use or create a switching arrangement, as the relatively low impedance output of a solid state tuner will kill the earlier radio output.

Thanks, chaps, I think I was overcomplicating this when I was thinking it through after a hard day at work last night.
I'll probably fit a discreet switched 3.5mm socket as Boulevardier suggests. It works well on Radio 4 LW, but I've grown tired of all the SMPS hash, which I find makes listening tiring. I also have zillions of hifi tuners lying around doing nothing, so hiding one near the radio and feeding it from that seems like a win-win, even though the purist side of me turns my nose up at the thought! Thanks both. Mods, please don't close yet, I'll report back when I've actually tried it out. |
