Just noticed Chas milllers old house in Woodseaves has gone up on Rightmove. Wonder what happened to the mountains of stuff he had? Hope it’s been saved. I only went in there a couple of times & it was crammed full of stuff.

There have been other threads about the topic of both Radiophile and Radio Bygones, which ideally, could be scanned and uploaded to the 'World Radio History' archive, from which out-of-print historical radio and electronic magazines can be freely downloaded and printed, thanks to those who run the archive and scan the magazines for no reward other than the satisfaction of preserving information that would otherwise be lost.
In some instances, copyright owners have objected (Notably Silicon Chip in Australia who caused many hundreds of seven scanned magazine titles to be removed, including ETI). See posts #15 and #46 at this thread: https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showthread.php?t=214359 When Chas passed away, the copyright of the magazines passed to his wife Jo. Jo is now in a care home, and has senile dementia, so her son Dean has power of attorney to handle his mother's affairs, so could act on his mother's behalf as regards copyright. It could be offered for sale, but it seems unlikely that it has much value, given the low and diminishing level of interest in vintage radio and electronics. From what we hear, Dean is a busy farmer, but at post #5 here, the BVWS is looking into this sensitive matter. https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showthread.php?t=218656 Quite a few members of the forum assisted Chas in providing articles for the magazine, in running the website and at Auctions, so will have a personal desire to see that Bygones and Radiophile aren't simply lost through default. As the 'the mountains of stuff', when a property is disposed of, time is of the essence. A house clearance/auctioneer can advise what items have value, and could list them in either a general auction or collectables auction. Other items, in a skip if of no value, or charity shops for good saleable items of nominal value.

Indeed it is.
I spent many a happy day over the years, with Chas & Jo in their home, & in Chas's workshop/s. My wife used to come with me and afterwards warn me not to collect a similar amount of 'stuff!'. I fear that I did.... David. |

Sorry. Can never resist the temptation of Chas with his wallet out!

Thank you David for the detail, much appreciated. Hopefully, BVWS will be able to support as much preservation as possible.
