Default BECG Broadcast Engineering Museum Heritage Open Days

It's September and the year has gone so fast, so we've already come round to our annual Heritage Open Days event. This year it's on the weekend of 20/21 of September. Details here:

https://becg.org.uk/event/heritage-open-days-2025/

We're near Gainsborough in Lincolnshire, right next door to the largest antiques centre in Europe.

If you haven't been for a while, there's so much new to see. In the beginning, we were fighting our enormous 1936 built former RAF Sergeants' mess, but now we've almost tamed it and our displays are developing fast. From multiple OB trucks, VT, TK, transmitters, sound broadcasting, consumer TV we have lots to engage enthusiasts and the general public alike.

As usual for heritage open days, it's a free event.

Hope to see you!

Best regards,

Paul M

Default Re: BECG Broadcast Engineering Museum Heritage Open Days

Just giving this a bounce - just 3 work camp days left before we open!

Lots of new things to see, including a recreation of the 'Grandstand' football results from a working teleprinter and image orthicon TV camera. Both pure early 1960s and a trip down memory lane.

Our huge new replacement skylights in our transmitter hall (the old sergeant's mess kitchens) look fantastic and we're very pleased with the results. Lots more to do, but what an improvement!

Yorks / Tyne Tees OB truck will be making a first appearance at the museum joining the 'resident' trucks.

The lighting display area has continued develop and Mr Snoddy now has a shop display as well as his workshop.

As it's Heritage Open Days, this is all free!

Best regards,

Paul M
