Default Punnetts Town (East Sussex) meet 3rd August

Just a reminder that the BVWS Punnetts Town (East Sussex) swap-meet & jumble is coming up on Sunday 3rd August.

Doors open at 10 (stall holders 9.30). The usual variety of stalls selling Radio, Television, HiFi, Audio, Comms receivers, Test gear, Valves, Components, Spares, etc.
Entry fee payable at the door. Ample free parking, ample refreshments!

The BVWS stall will be there selling the usual range of capacitors, Deoxit, etc., and loads of items from the bulging BVWS stores at 'we don't want to take stuff back' prices!

The BVW&TV Museum will have a stall too, selling surplus items to raise funds - you never know what you might find...

And there's always something interesting to see in the side room!

It's a members event but guests are very welcome for a sample visit to come and see what we're all about! You can even take the plunge and join the BVWS on the day!

This is a great and friendly meeting in a beautiful location, in all a jolly good day out!

STOP PRESS: THERE ARE STILL A COUPLE OF TABLES AVAILABLE - contact organiser John Howes - details in the Bulletin and on BVWS website: https://www.bvws.org.uk/events/locations.php

There is no auction at this event so best get there for opening time if you're keen to find the bargains!

See you there...

The Punnetts Town meet is always good fun. A modest hall crammed with stalls and chatter right next to a decent car park. There is even a good grass area for a picnic or dog exercise if you need that. I cannot remember a single time when I didn't come away with something I hadn't expected to buy!
I'll be there...

Just a reminder that this event is a little over a week away, there’s still a stall available if you’re quick, contact organiser John Howes (details in Bulletin).

Look forward to seeing many of you there…

A message from organiser John Howes re some local roadworks in the village:

"If you are coming to the Punnetts Town swapmeet this coming Sunday, 3rd August you need to be aware of some road works on the B2096 in Punnetts Town.
There is a road closure at the end of the village but will not affect you if you are coming in the direction from Heathfield. The start of the B2096 has road closure signs at the beginning of the turn off by Setyres.
There is access along this road to the village hall.

If you are coming in the opposite direction from Battle on the B2096 you will be diverted to get to the village hall. It may be more convenient to use the A21 and take the turn off at Hurst Green through Etchingham , Burwash to Broad Oak. At Broad Oak turn left onto Halley Road and left at the end which will bring you on to the B2096 with access to the village hall in Punnetts Town.

If you know of anyone else coming would you kindly pass on the information to them, many thanks"

See you there...

Another great day out at Punnetts Town. The weather stayed fine today which just goes to further enhance the wonderful countryside of East Sussex. The village hall came alive today with busy trading especially around the huge BVWS stall with good radios changing hands at bargain prices. I was happy to pass on the huge Radio Rentals model 58 as well as the heavy 110 volt site transformer which has challenged my right arm for the past two events. A warm welcome from organiser John Howes and the cheerfully enthusiastic activity from the BVWS committee members all helped make the day worthwhile and enjoyable.
Definitely an event not to be missed.

Yes a very good event. Following the useful diversionary travel advice from John, we headed for the Heathfield route from Bexhill through very pleasant scenery on the backroads. I was able to meet up with another Forum member who had travelled a much greater distance bringing a DAB tuner for me in exchage for cash. I wasn't able to stay beyond noon due to domestic committments and I didn't get much hardware [this time] but I did find a large number of magazines [including 1950's Wireless Worlds] that I was very pleased with. All in all, well worth the visit as usual. My daughter has a carer who was brought up in Punnetts Town which adds to my interest in this interesting location as well.

I would certainly echo those comments. Punnetts Town is always a good social event as well as a bargain-hunter's delight. Thanks to all the Howes clan (John, Brenda, Richard, Michael and Catherine) for their usual excellent organisation and hospitality. I came away with a small clutch of goodies, some for me and some for a friend who couldn't attend.

Next is Biggleswade!

Two different people came up to me right at the end at Punnetts Town, asking to reserve stalls for Biggleswade. In the chaos of departure I forgot to jot their details down. If you are reading this, please contact me via PM or email!
many thanks
