Hi,
I have got a Grundig C6000, just as my father got from my grandfather in 1970s, so it is a part of my "sentimental collection" now. However, this specific thing has all its chrome parts plagued by pitting corrosion. Polishing them helps, but just to a certain extent. AFAICS, all other specimens on eBay look similarly bad, so I plan to eventually re-chrome and re-nickel certain parts, for which I'd need to separate them from the radio -- and I have stopped at the handle. I know how to remove the chromed side plates, those with three round holes in my case. But I am puzzled about the remaining part of the handle: two thick steel side pieces, steel rectangular tube, springs which hold the chromed plates and the plastic covering tube, is that all ever possible to disassemble? Have anybody went that deep down this rabbit hole before me?

There is a purchaseable download available for the C6000 Service Manual at the Instant Downloads as per this link - https://www.service-data.com/section.php/12266/1/c6000
This includes dismantling information, whether it is detailed enough to cover your question I am unsure, but it must be a good starting place. David |

I've just checked the DVD-ROM.
The C6000 service manual doesn't show cabinet parts at all. I've looked at some others and none of them show the handle coming apart. One of them ( forget which) does give a part number for 'handle, complete' which suggests it was supplied assembled and doesn't come apart. |

Many of this type of handle have a keyhole slot in the handle and fit onto a stud/screw on the cabinet. With the handle vertical, as in the picture Try to give the handle a sharp tap with your hand immediately above the chromed part and it’ll move it down. Do the other side and the handle will come off.
