Rewiring a Belgian Rotary Telephone
Hello all,
I've just come back from a recent trip to Bruges and at one of the antique markets I spotted a "Dutch TYPE 65" like telephone for sale for only 28 euros. From the markings I believe this was some kind of "under licence terms" it appears to be very much a Belgian telephone, rather than the Dutch 65 variant. I have managed to get it to work and dial out, but unfortunately I'm having difficulty getting it to ring out. The guide i've been following isn't very clear and I think this phone has a different circuit board installed than the one the guide is referring to. I can confirm there is nothing wrong with the telephone line as a Western Electric Model 500 works on it fine as does a GPO 300 series and 232 telephone. All other phones have been disconnected. Pictures if these will help anyone, hopefully someone can rotate them as they always upload the wrong way when I take them on iPhone. Very much appreciated Ryan |

Re: Rewiring a Belgian Rotary Telephone
You are missing the phone lead. Numbering the connections from the right as you look at the front of the phone
Connect pins 3 and 4 together and to one wire of the phone line Connect the other wire of the phone line to pin 2 I have attached a .pdf of the circuit to help (For reference the handset is connected to pines 9.10,11,12). |

I managed to get the ringer working, a wired had come off the ringer mechanism. I just re-soldered it on and it works okay now
