Default More radios for sale

I have come across more radios that need new owners. All of these radios were bagged up some time ago and have sat on purpose built shelving in my very dry garage.

With the exceptions of the Vidor and perhaps the Roberts, I am not really happy to post these as they are heavy and some are fragile (and I’m running out of packing materials!). They can be collected from my home just south of Bristol, or I can bring them to RWB in December – or FCS, of course.

1) HMV 1356 – This is a solid chunk of a radio! Very well built – I got it years ago and always meant to restore it, respraying the bakelite front and getting it going again! Never did. Interesting to dismantle – you have to take the front off first – then unscrew the chassis. Anyway – it’s all there - yours for £10

2) Pye 224 – quite a nice radio – seems to work, but no work done by me. Missing one of the brass bezels from the volume knob - £10

3) Philco 3610 – has been restored (not by me) – nice cabinet – has FM as well - £15

4) Cossor 494 - seems to be all there, but there is woodworm in the speaker board. If I was restoring it, I would make another speaker board from plywood and find some material for the front. I knew there was WW in it when I got it, so I have kept it in a sealed bag ever since (only got it out to photograph it) Unsure of working condition, bakelite ok - £5

5) Vidor CN426 – battery portable with mains. Case pretty good, couple of marks on the fascia, works well – restored by an ex RTV engineer - £10 + postage at cost (if required)

6) Symphony Five portable – a 5 valve radio from the 1930s, from the AJ Stevens company. Condition is not too bad – the bottom has been replaced and there is no carrying strap– the battery wires still have their little lead labels attached, somebody has done a bit of rewiring (DIN plug?) and there is a Christies label on it from 1999. I paid a fair bit of money for it, but I accept that I’m not going to do anything with it - £25

7) Roberts RP4 Battery Portable. Nicely proportioned box radio with green rexine covering. It has had woodworm in the past – none present now though! In working condition when last used, complete with battery connectors - £10

Please see pics below - I do have more of each radio if you want me to send them to you

Thanks
Andy

Hi Bill - sorry, I did say that I wasn't happy to post this radio - I don't think it would be an economic or physical success anyway.

The radio probably weighs 6 or 7Kgs and would cost more than it is worth to post it over the Irish sea (it would require a large box as well) - estimated cost via myhermes would be about £20-25 and I am fearful of posting a bakelite or plastic cabinet radio anyway!
Best wishes
Andy
